Shock Therapy

This past weekend I made a quick trip to NYC to see my dear friend, Gabby. This girl was my roommate last summer. It was a roommate success story (Hurrah! We need more of these in the world). We spent the days interning for little to no money, obsessively finding new restaurants to try and dancing with abandon at free shows. I can’t believe a year has passed since then. During this trip,  I found myself looking back with rose-tinted glasses while also squeezing the most out of my time in the city. From biking across the Manhattan Bridge to some funky get-downs with new friends in Brooklyn, the days were active and the nights were full. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

The overdose of energy that only New York can offer revitalized my spirit. It was the dose of hustle and bustle I craved. It was a much-needed system shock. It was even worth being sandwiched in-between two smelly characters on the Greyhound. (That’s how you know).

I had a lot of time to read on the way there. The quotes you’ll find interspersed were my inspirations discovered during my journey.

So, I wonder about the rest of you out there. What do you do when you need a change of pace? What keeps your life pulsing?
