Thought Bubbles: A Common Prayer

We all have our own unique form of prayer. The things we do to stay sane, to see ourselves more clearly, to connect to something outside of our messy inner worlds. Whether it’s staring at the streaks left by airplanes in the sky, an hour spent alone, a visit to a temple, it’s an act of communion between that little seed of trust deep down within us and that big, large, ever-expansive thing we give many names. The great mystery, mother Earth, God, the Universe, spirit, energy…whatever we call it, it’s threaded through all of us. A string just waiting to be plucked so we can feel the reverberations that are always there, humming. Maybe it’s just a matter of listening.

God is the Nameless Name with a Thousand Names. – Hindu proverb
